Teaching Philosophy

The Montessori classroom is a place where the joy of learning comes naturally. GMS Curricula Toddler children (18 – 36 months) are offered optimal bilingual learning opportunities in language, sensorial education, practical life, cultural activities, science, mathematics, art, music and movement – which indirectly refine motor skills, auditory and visual development, concentration, social and intellectual skills. Preschool (Casa) children (ages 3 to 6) are taught language arts, mathematics, practical life activities, sensorial education, science, geography, history, physical education, music, art, and French. Elementary children (ages 6-12) follow the Montessori curriculum, which surpasses guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The Montessori bilingual elementary curriculum includes language and literary arts, mathematics, geography, history, economics, science, technology, art, music, drama, physical education, computer skills and a comprehensive French program.
